Sang S. Kim is an attorney licensed to practice in the state of New York. Mr. Kim has been working in the area of U.S. immigration law in various private and government organizations since 1999. He joined the Law Office of Helga M. Carson in October 2004. He received his Bachelor's degree from New York University and his J.D. degree from Brooklyn Law School.
From 1999 to 2001, Mr. Kim worked in San Francisco and Washington D.C. in business immigration law, assisting corporate clients to obtain work authorization for specialized professionals and researchers of outstanding caliber.
From 2003 to 2004, Mr. Kim represented persecuted nationals from Colombia in asylum cases through the Safe Harbor Clinic in Brooklyn, New York. In addition, Mr. Kim served as an Immigration Fellow at the U.S. Senate Office of Hillary Rodham Clinton where he advised congressional staff and constitutents on immigration matters and assisted in drafting immigration policy memorandum for the Senator. He also acted as a congressional liaison to officials from the State Department and Homeland Security.
Mr. Kim has assisted clients in obtaining nonimmigrant visas in the H-1B, L-1, O-1, and TN classifications. He also has extensive experience assisting clients in obtaining employment-based permanent residency through labor certification and in the Outstanding and Extraordinary Ability categories.
Mr. Kim is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the New York Bar Association.
